In Memory of Mohamed Feisal – “Bahji”

Today, we come together to remember Mohamed Feisal, known affectionately to his family, colleagues, and the wider shipping community as Bahji. A steady and unassuming presence in Mombasa’s maritime circles, he devoted his career to Ship Mark, serving for many years as a trusted boarding officer. In this role, he became a familiar and reassuring figure to ships’ agents, masters, and crew alike—earning their respect not through fanfare, but through quiet diligence and unwavering reliability.

Bahji was the first-born son of the late Feisal Mohamed, a distinguished operations manager of longstanding. His father helmed operations at Southern Line Shipping Company before later taking up the position of crewing manager at Ship Mark upon his retirement. In this way, the Feisal name became woven into the daily fabric of Mombasa’s port industry across two generations—a legacy Bahji proudly upheld through his own faithful service.

It is with profound sadness that we note Mohamed Feisal passed away in the early hours of yesterday(July 27,2026) morning at a Mombasa Hospital . Though his earthly voyage has drawn to a close, the deep esteem he earned among those who worked beside him will not fade. He was be laid to rest last evening(July 27,2026) at Kikowani Cemetery, where family, friends, and former colleagues will gather to bid him a final farewell.

May his soul find eternal peace, and may all who mourn him take comfort in the enduring memory of a man who carried out his life’s work—and treated his community—with quiet grace and profound dignity.
